What does market value of the property mean? Is stamp duty payable on market value or on agreement value as stated in the agreement?

Market value means the price at which a property could be bought in the open market on the date of execution of such instrument. The Stamp Duty is payable on the agreement value of the property or the market value whichever is higher.

What instruments attract the payment of stamp duty?

Agreement to sell, Gift Deed, Partition Deed, Exchange of Property, Conveyance Deed, Settlement, Deed and Transfer of Lease and Power of Attorney are the instruments that attract Stamp Duty on market value of the property.

What is the eligibility criteria for housing loan?

- Salaried or self-employed with regular income.

- Minimum age of applicant should be 21 years

When can I apply for home loan and steps involved in the process?

Home Loan can be applied even before selecting the property or commencement of construction. Knowing your loan amount helps you decide your budget and plan the purchase of the property.

- Copy of Partnership Deed Authority letter from the other Partners of the Partnership Firm to authorize the Partner who will be signing on the firm’s behalf.

- Copy of PAN Card of the Partnership Firm – attested by the Partners

- Passport-size photographs (for Partner authorized to sign on behalf of the Firm).
